Cultural Festival
Last term was Glen Taylor Schools cultural festival. It was so much fun to see other cultures perform their traditional dance's. I loved every bit of performing. The costumes we're beautiful and it was a nice hot sunny day for the festival. Here are some Photo's from that day....
Revolting Recipe
This is my revolting procedural writing. Hope you enjoy!
Slimy soup
This recipe can feed old grumpy teachers and
makes a great snack...
You will need the following ingredients:
- 250 grams of nits
- A handful of poop
- 2 litres of pee
- A handful of earwax
- A deadmans toe
- A cup of vomit
- Camel guts
- A cow tongue
You will need the following equipment:
- A cauldron
- One wooden spoon
- A sharp knife
- A bowl
Method:
- Gather all your equipments and remember to wash your hands before you cook
- Firstly make sure you have the correct measurements for all your ingredients. Heat your cauldron to 270 degrees for 10 minutes.
- Secondly grab the handful of poop and plop it down into the cauldron and the 2 litres of pee after that.
- Next pour in you 250 grams of nits, the handful of earwax and the cup of vomit and mix well with the wooden spoon.
- Then chop up the camel guts into little pieces with the sharp knife and throw it into the cauldron (like literally throw it in so it could have a hint of air, if you miss and it falls to the floor...even better)
- After that chop up the cow tongue and put it into the pot gently
- And finally serve in a bowl to grumpy old teachers...

Newspaper Article
This is a news article I've been working in March...
“I can’t wake mummy” Toddler discovered after spending two days alone with dead mother who died cause of asthma.
Mason Martin survived on cheese he found in the fridge for two days in Perth, scotland after his mother Lydia Macdonald died on an asthma attack.
Mason was found by Ms Macdonald's best friend Jodi Ann.
Jodi became worried so she came over and found mason sitting on the bed next to his dead mother and said “I can't wake mommy”.
Mason suffering dehydration was taken to hospital where he was told his mother died, leaving him an orphan. His dad died when he was 8 months old.
Masons grandparents Linda and Ron Macdonald are now raising him up.
“We are now bringing up mason and telling him everyday that his mommy is with daddy and they became the most brightest stars” Linda said.

Hedgehog slice's
3 weeks ago, room 11 made hedgehog slice's. It was a fun activity to do especially when doing it for learning. The purpose of us doing this was because our teacher was preparing us for an assessment that was based on procedural writing. Here are some photo's of room 11 cooking...

Vollyball
The first thing that room 11 did today was volleyball. My favourite thing to do. We do class sessions with our volleyball coach Toni. We learnt how to block a spike and continued learning all different kinds of skills to use when playing against other teams. It was so much fun.

Taking home my Chromebook
Yay! I finally get to take my Chromebook home. First we had to take our parents through a slide show that Mrs Grant prepared for us. It was a good opportunity to train my parents how to use a Chromebook properly and where to be at the right time.

Writing Workshop
Today 4 people got picked to go to St Heliers library. I was lucky enough to get this opportunity to work with a famous author named Melinda Szymanik. We learnt how to structure our writing in narratives better. There were other kids from different schools whose writings were very descriptive. It was a good time to learn off of other students that have different talents in writing that we don't have.
This is one of Melinda's books...
